Bio
Florencia Lalor is a psychologist and consultant who specializes in adoption. Nowadays she lives in Buenos Aires, where she works at her private practice.
She graduated cum laude with a degree in Psychology from the Universidad del Salvador (USAL), Buenos Aires, and she got a master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University, New York, USA, as well as a training at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, in Systemic and Family Therapy.
Florencia Lalor has been especially interested in the world of adoption because she considers that as a professional and as an adoptee herself she has much to contribute. In 2018, she participated in the second annual conference of the Indiana Adoptee Network, United States, and served as project assistant for ECPAT (End Child Prostitution and Trafficking), in New York.
New York, the city where she lived for several years, is where she also participated in many programs for adoptees implemented by the adoption agency Spence-Chapin, and it is where she worked at the Metropolitan Center for Mental Health, as a child, adolescent and adult psychologist, conducting family interviews and intakes.
In Argentina, she worked in IBM’s Corporate Social Responsibility department, and in the neuropsychiatric Borda hospital as a therapeutic companion for hospitalized patients.
